Flow Hive Companion is a two-part experience designed for new urban beekeepers, helping them assess if they are ready for a hive and then maintain healthy forage around it. The project focuses on reducing early hive failure by guiding users through suitability checks, forage education, and ongoing space management with the help of a friendly mascot, Buzzy.
Defined a primary persona (Anthony) and mapped pain points across pre-purchase anxiety, local regulations, and forage uncertainty that new beekeepers face.
Built end-to-end flows for both the web-based readiness check and the mobile app ecosystem, ensuring a seamless transition from consideration to active beekeeping.
Created a Figma-led prototype shaped through a human-centered design lens, using Miro for mapping flows and Adobe Creative Suite for visual assets and Buzzy illustrations.
Evolved from low-fidelity flows to interactive high-fidelity screens, validating clarity and usefulness through feedback cycles with potential users.
A personalized dashboard that highlights immediate tasks tied to Buzzy's health, helping keepers stay on top of hive care with clear visual cues and actionable reminders.
Point your camera at any plant to get instant identification and bee-safety guidance. The scanner overlays detection results in real space, making forage discovery intuitive.
Discover nearby Flow keepers and coordinate forage coverage. The heatmap surfaces gaps around your hive so the community can fill them together for healthier bees.
